Privacy Notice
This is a translation. The operative version of this document is the German one, which is what a German court and a supervisory authority would read. The English below is faithful but not the binding text. Read the German original, or ask us at any time.
Information on the processing of personal data on the website anonymize.solutions in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Controller
Controller within the meaning of the GDPR:
Voltage Brothers Infrastruktur UG (haftungsbeschränkt)
operating anonymize.solutions
Europaallee 6
66113 Saarbrücken
Germany
Commercial register: Amtsgericht Saarbrücken, HRB 142331
Privacy contact: George Curta, address as above
E-mail: privacy@anonymize.solutions
2. Scope of this policy
This policy covers the website anonymize.solutions only. The website is for information. It has no user accounts, no login, no shop and no payment function, and you cannot submit documents or text for anonymisation on it.
The products are separate services with their own privacy policies:
- anonym.legal (hosted service) – anonym.legal/privacy
- anonym.plus (runs on your own computer) – anonym.plus/privacy.html
If you use one of these products, its policy applies to that use, not this one.
3. Visiting the website: server log files
When you open a page, your browser automatically sends information to our web server. The server records it in log files:
- IP address of the requesting device
- Date and time of the request
- Requested address (URL), HTTP status code and amount of data transferred
- Referrer – the page you came from, if your browser sends it
- Browser identifier (user agent) – browser type and version, operating system
We need this data to deliver the website, to find errors and to protect the server against attacks. IP addresses in these logs are also evaluated automatically to block addresses that attack the server, for example by scanning for security holes; such a block expires after a set period.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the secure and stable operation of the website.
Storage period: the log files are rotated daily and deleted automatically after no more than 15 days, unless a specific incident requires us to keep individual entries as evidence for longer.
The fonts of the website are delivered from our own server. Opening a page does not connect your browser to any third party.
4. Contacting us: contact form and e-mail
Contact form. The contact page has a form. It asks for your name, e-mail address, company, the size of your company and your message (required) and optionally your role, the product you are interested in, where your text may be processed and your use case. When you send it, your browser transmits these details to our server at Hetzner in Germany. The server does not store the message; it forwards it as an e-mail from noreply@anonymize.solutions to info@anonymize.solutions through Microsoft 365 (Microsoft Graph). Besides your details, that e-mail contains your IP address, the time of sending, the reCAPTCHA score and a note that you gave your consent, with the version of this policy it was given for. To limit repeated submissions, the server keeps a hashed form of your IP address with the times of your submissions (at most five per minute are accepted); these entries are deleted automatically after 24 hours.
Consent. The form can only be sent once you have ticked the consent box. The server checks this as well and refuses a message without it.
Spam protection (Google reCAPTCHA). Google reCAPTCHA v3 is loaded only when you press “Send” with the consent box ticked – not when you open the contact page or any other page. It then distinguishes people from automated submissions: Google collects information about your browser and your use of the page (for example your IP address, browser and device data, and how you interact with the page), may set cookies or read information stored on your device, and returns a score to our server, which checks it with Google before sending your message. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Legal basis: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. You can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future (section 10); a message already sent is not affected. If you do not want reCAPTCHA, write to us by e-mail instead.
E-mail. If you write to us by e-mail (for example to info@anonymize.solutions), or send the form, we process your e-mail address, your name if you give it, the content of your message and the technical data of the e-mail, in order to answer you.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry concerns a contract or steps before a contract; otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
We delete your enquiry once it has been dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply (for example to commercial correspondence under § 257 HGB and § 147 AO); in that case we keep it for the statutory period and then delete it.
Our e-mail is hosted by Microsoft (Microsoft 365 / Exchange Online). Your message is therefore processed on Microsoft's systems (see section 5).
5. Recipients and processors
We use the following service providers:
- Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany – hosting of the website, its fonts and the server logs. The server runs on ISO 27001-certified Hetzner infrastructure in Falkenstein, Germany.
- Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, Ireland – e-mail hosting (Microsoft 365 / Exchange Online) for messages you send us
- Google Ireland Limited – spam protection on the contact page (reCAPTCHA v3), only after your consent, see section 4
Hetzner and Microsoft act as processors on our behalf under agreements pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.
We do not pass personal data to other third parties unless we are legally obliged to do so.
6. Transfers outside the European Union
The website itself, its fonts and its server logs are stored only in Germany. Microsoft and Google belong to US groups. When you use the contact form (reCAPTCHA, Microsoft 365) or write to us by e-mail, a transfer of personal data to the USA therefore cannot be ruled out.
Safeguard for such transfers: Microsoft Corporation and Google LLC are certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission adopted an adequacy decision on 10 July 2023 (Art. 45 GDPR). In addition, Microsoft's data processing terms include the EU standard contractual clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR). The certifications can be checked at dataprivacyframework.gov.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
The website itself sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser's local storage. There is no analytics, no advertising and no tracking pixel. The one exception is sending the contact form: once you have given your consent and pressed “Send”, Google reCAPTCHA (section 4) may set cookies and read information from your browser.
An earlier version of the website installed a service worker (a small browser script for offline caching). If your browser still holds it, the current version replaces it with one that only deletes the old cache and then removes itself. No data is sent to us in the process.
8. Links to other websites
The website links to other websites, including anonym.legal, anonym.plus and piisafe.eu. When you follow such a link, the operator of the other website is responsible for the processing there.
9. SSL/TLS encryption
The website uses SSL/TLS encryption (HTTPS). This protects the data transmitted between your browser and our server from being read by third parties.
10. Your rights
Pursuant to Arts. 15–21 GDPR, you have the following rights:
- Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR) – you have the right to obtain information about the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR) – you have the right to have inaccurate data corrected.
- Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) – you have the right to request the erasure of your data unless statutory retention obligations apply.
- Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR) – you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your data.
- Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR) – you have the right to receive data you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format.
- Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR) – where we process your data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you have the right to object on grounds relating to your particular situation.
- Right to withdraw consent (Art. 7(3) GDPR) – you can withdraw a consent you have given at any time with effect for the future; processing carried out before the withdrawal remains lawful.
We respond without undue delay and in any case within one month. For complex or numerous requests, this period may be extended by two further months under Art. 12(3) GDPR; we will tell you if that happens. Please send your requests to: privacy@anonymize.solutions
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your habitual residence, your place of work or the place of the alleged infringement (Art. 77 GDPR).
11. No obligation to provide data; no automated decisions
You are not obliged to provide personal data. Without the technical data in section 3 the website cannot be delivered; without your e-mail address we cannot answer you. We do not use automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.
12. Contact for data protection enquiries
